Operations Trains New Internal Auditors


An insurance company needed to train selected employees to become internal auditors as part of their HIPAA Privacy compliance project. Post-certification, auditors would perform regular internal audits to ensure HIPAA policies and procedures were being followed.

ProjectLead designed and developed coursework to train internal employees on auditing operations.

ProjectLead developed auditing guidelines to help auditors link their findings to the corresponding policies and/or procedures.

ProjectLead designed and implemented an auditing process, including an annual audit schedule with assigned auditors, closing meetings where findings were communicated, and a resolution process for clearing up any non-conformance.

RESULTS

Verified Operations

Internal audit enabled executives to be sure things were running as expected.

Resolution Accountability

Non-conformances were corrected based on a specific due date schedule.

Management Visibility

Post-audit management meetings ensured executives were made aware of findings and could see the plan for corrective actions with assignments and due dates.
