Marketing and Sales Use PMO to Integrate eBusiness Projects


A chemical manufacturing company embarked on a 3-year program to upgrade it's sales and marketing processes to leverage internet technologies to increase revenues while decreasing costs. A Program Management Office was implemented to guide the overall effort and ensure teams kept on track.

ProjectLead developed the overall program approach and presented it to the executive leadership team for approval.

ProjectLead developed the PMO including defining policies and procedures for consistency across multiple projects.

ProjectLead trained an in-house leader for the PMO and provided ongoing mentoring to support the leader in this new endeavor.

One Plan

Managing all projects within the program's umbrella tied individual plans to an overall master plan.

Big Picture

Viewing the program at a strategic level and reporting on it at that level kept executives engaged and dealing with exceptions rather than details.

Consistent Deliverables

Using procedures and common templates, deliverables across projects had a consistent look and feel, and level of detail.
